Claire McCaskill: Graham Was Instrumental in Investigating Iraq and Afghanistan Contracting Issues
RUSH EXCERPT:
MACCASKILL: “Well, I think it stood out to me when I first got there. He was very kind to me. He’D only been there for a few years. I was elected in 2006. He was elected in 2003. He was very kind to me, particularly on the Armed Services Committee, wanting to include me in a lot of discussions that were ongoing about important issues facing the military at that time. He knew I wanted to take a look at contracting in Iraq, and he was very helpful to me navigating some of the very difficult hallways in the Pentagon to try to get to the bottom of some of the contracting messes we had with the war in Iraq and also in Afghanistan. So he was helpful. He was helpful and kind. He also it was clear to me that he had a great deal of loyalty to his close friend, John McCain. He was willing to go anywhere for John and do anything for John. And it is important, I think, now for us to take a moment and realize that all three of the amigos are are now no longer with us."
