MS NOW’s Traylor: Trump Said That He Will Not Sign the Housing Affordability Bill as Protest, Until the SAVE Act Goes Through
RUSH EXCERPT:
TRAYLOR: "Yeah. Alex. Three words, the SAVE Act. The president has been insistently talking about the SAVE Act. This is a law that would, in a lot of ways, inhibit voter. It’s essentially voter restriction in a lot of different ways. And it has other components to it as well. But the SAVE Act, to be clear, is something that does not have enough Republican support to even get through the Senate. And over the past few weeks, it has been all President Trump really does talk about in this moment. He said on Truth Social yesterday that he would not be signing this housing affordability bill into law because he says it was a protest until the SAVE Act actually goes through a bit of legal jargon here. But still, this housing affordability went through because if the president doesn’t touch it, if he doesn’t veto it for 10 days, it still becomes law. But there’s some symbolism here because normally the president would take this bipartisan piece of legislation that really addresses some housing affordability issues that has spurred the country for over three decades now. This is a really novel and bipartisan piece of legislation here that did a lot of things for American people that Trump said. I am not going to put my name on because I have other priorities. And I think that’s the key takeaway here, Alex, is that the president has very different priorities right now than even some of his Senate Republican colleagues."
