Rosa Flores: Surveillance Video Does Not Support DHS’s Claim That the Shooter Vehicle Was ‘Weaponized’ Against Agents

FLORES: “The biggest takeaway from the video, kathryn and we obtained three videos. We walked down, up and down the street talking to as many people as we could, businesses getting as much video footage as we could. The biggest takeaway is we don’t see what DHS is saying happened here, that this man used his vehicle, weaponized his vehicle against agents. We don’t see it in the videos that we obtained. What we do see in one of those videos is that the the cars that are chasing him block him at the end of this street. So it’s a maneuver that’s made. It’s it’s from afar. It’s difficult to see, but that’s the only thing that we do see. The other bigger picture takeaway, Catherine, is the conversation that I keep on hearing over and over again in this memorial that you see behind me. I actually was just having this conversation moments before coming on air. And I keep on hearing, this could be my father. And I hear it from >> Men too, who say, this could have been me. And here’s the bigger picture of this. The American dream here in the United States is not just the home, the brick and mortar house. It’s this idea that there is justice in America. The idea of America is that you can come to this country, and you can have the that you’re not going to be pulled from your home or from your vehicle by a police officer with impunity. That there will be justice, that there will be an investigation. A lot of people that I’ve talked to here are immigrants from Mexico. They’ve told me that’s what we left in Mexico. We thought we were leaving, leaving that behind. How is this? Is this happening in the in the United States and how is it being allowed to happen? So the biggest takeaway, Katherine, that I can tell you that I’m seeing right here is that that the idea of America is being tested, not just in this case, but as you know, there are so many like our other guests who just mentioned so many other cases around this country where ice has shot and killed individuals or shot individuals."
