Mehek Cooke: Democrats and Democratic Socialists Are Failing to Appeal to Maine’s Independent Voters

COOKE: “Kevin Corke they are. Fear does not win elections. You have to actually speak to the voting base. This is where Susan Collins has won five terms. Because she is an extreme — she isn’t extreme, she speaks to moderates and where Democrats are failing and the socialists are failing is that they are failing to realize that a third of Maine voters, roughly, are independents. And they are going to lose that base because of fear, because they have failed to realize that you actually have to deliver solutions rather than radical ideology. So this is a losing strategy but this will be a gift to Republicans because if Susan Collins clutches her sixth term, Republicans need to now focus on other states like Ohio that has another dangerous, radical running, Sherrod Brown. So I think this is a gift but Republicans need to start focusing on some of these other states. We really need the help because socialism is here to stay and it is spreading like wildfire Kevin. We have seen it in six states”
