TOWERY: "Oh, you are absolutely right. Anyone who thinks that the Republicans or conservatives had anything to do with this would be crazy. It was the democratic power system. As soon as I saw Politico was doing the story, I knew what was coming. And I knew who was hyped it. So, yes, they have to get hip out. But even if they get him out at this point they have got a party in disarray. There is a poll that recently came out that shows basically Collins either defeating or very close to all of the potential individuals she might be running against, and you know she always polls much better in Maine than the actual polls show. So I think Collins is still in good shape. We’ll see what platner does. He’s been so erratic, shall we say, that anything could happen. Yes, this is the democratic establishment working to get him out as soon as possible so they can replace him on the ballot by next Monday."
