Jordan Wood on Dems Support for Graham Platner Prior to Assault Scandal: We Want to Forgive People, Give Them Second Chances

WOODS: "Yeah, as I have thought about it myself. You know, when I left the Senate race, I said, whoever comes out of the Democratic nomination, I will support, um, and as, as I thought about it was, was we, we want to forgive people. We want to give them second chances, especially for somebody like Graham, who‘s had a difficult life. I‘m going to come to know him very well. Um, and, and that, that his behavior moving forward, um, is what he should be judged on. And, uh, these allegations are of his past. Um, they are disqualified nonetheless. But I think there is a real, um, motivation, a real conviction among the people here. We‘re good people and, and want to give, give people that, that ability to transform to be better people and improve their lives. And unfortunately to do that, you must be truthful about your past. And what became clear through every single instance that you mentioned is that in each one of those times, Graham said, this is the last one. This is the last thing that will come out. Um, that that was also a lie. So but I have a great deal of grace for the people of Maine that, that, um, we, their hearts are in the right place."
