Former Platner Girlfriend: ‘My Biggest Concern Throughout Most of Our Relationship Was He‘s Going to Kill Himself’

‘He would threaten it, he had a plan’

EXCERPT:

FIFIELD: “I think something else that‘s kind of missing from this conversation is that particular period of time, and the people that I was socializing with, because my cousins were working at Walter Reed, they were military. I was working for a military service group. A lot of these post-9/11 vets, but that also wanted to continue having military careers, they knew that a PTSD diagnosis was, like, a career killer. And so, getting people help, getting him specifically help for his PTSD, which he was very much struggling with at this time, that was my main focus, was just like, how do I get him help? How do I keep him from killing himself? My biggest concern throughout most of our relationship was, like, he‘s going to kill himself. And he kept — he would threaten it. He had a plan. And it was really hard for me to try to navigate my own social, like — like, my own sphere, and kind of feel like I had to keep that a secret from everybody.”
