Stuart Stevens: Hillary Clinton Didn’t Lose Because She Called People Deplorable, She Lost Because She Stopped Calling Them Deplorable

‘You have to be aggressive about this’

EXCERPT:

STEVENS: “Listen, I agree, I think, and that’s why it’s so essential that Democrats win this election. You know, I spent 30 years pointing out flaws in Democratic Party, but it’s the only pro-democracy party in America now, and you have to go out. And one of the things I think the Democrat Party has failed to do is to prosecute Republicans. You know, Hillary Clinton didn’t lose because she called these people deplorable. I’d say she lost because she quit calling them deplorable. You have to be aggressive about this. You have to frame the discussion. And look, I think that this all leads to what is going to happen with the next presidency. And I hope there’s going to be a Democrat elected president. And I think that we need in this country something we haven’t had before, which is a legal structure to pursue the large-scale criminality across the Trump Administration. And it’s probably going to be up to the state attorney generals, because Trump is going to pardon everybody that he has a chance to.”
