The agency claimed $215 billion in total savings. That’s according to the last update on their website, by the way, by finishing well short of their $1 trillion goal, though. And as a reminder, just for reference, our national debt stands right now at about $39 trillion, and experts are saying the percentage of the national debt dictated to interest — or dedicated, rather, these payments are only growing. The amount we’re spending continues to outpace our revenue. So far this year, the federal deficit is running at $1.2 trillion.”
