Clay Travis: We Have to Do a Better Job of Historical Literacy in America and Focus on its Success

‘nobody gets up and says the four worst things they did in their lives’

EXCERPT:

TRAVIS: "We fail when it comes to teaching history. We talk a lot about illiteracy. We have to teach everybody how to read. I’m a history major undergrad. I’m obsessed with history as I know you are. We just talked about the history of Mt. Rushmore. We have to do a better job with historical literacy in this country and we have to focus on success. The analogy I like to use is, when someone dies and you go to a funeral, Sean, nobody gets up and says the four worst things they did in their lives. It would be the worst eulogy of all time. We have to celebrate greatness. It doesn’t mean that people aren’t flawed. We’re all flawed. Democrats focus on failure. Republicans focus on success. To me, this president perfectly epitomizes that."
