Sen. Cory Booker: Recent Supreme Court Decisions Favor Billionaires and Large Corporations Over Ordinary Americans

‘They’re here with an agenda to reimagine our nation in a way that was never intended to be‘

RUSH EXCERPT:

BOOKER: “Class and calling out, I don’t care, originalist, textual, strict, strict constructionist, all these things they claim to be, it’s a lie. They’re here with an agenda to reimagine our nation in a way that was never intended to be. And what they’re doing is showing something. If you draw a line through the cases of this past week, if you take them picking monsanto and bayer over the Americans, dozens of them who were winning against this big corporation, winning these big settlements, they say, no, no, no, no, we’re on the side of the big corporation. You go to the next case where they clearly are saying, when it comes to every independent agency over a century of precedent, we’re going to upend that. Your consumer protections, your environmental protections, even elections. The Federal Election Commission, which calls balls and strikes on Republicans and Democrats. Enough of that. We’re going to let Donald Trump control that against the people, but we’re going to carve out an exception for the Wall Street people by saying, the Fed for you guys, we’re going to give you an independent cop on the beat. But for the rest of Americans, no. And then you find get to today where they’re going to say, you know what, one more time we’re going to side with the billionaires on campaign finance. Forget it. Since citizens united, we’re going to push this idea that corporations, billionaires, they have speech rights that you don’t enjoy"
