Charlie Dent: Immigrants Provide ‘An Energy’ That Helps Make America ‘The Point of the Spear’
RUSH EXCERPT:
DENT: “Yeah, I think every one of us, you know, who’s not a Native American, probably can tell you stories of their ancestors. I often speak of. My great grandfather came off the boat from England in 1866, started a very successful business in the late 19th century. And you know, these and that’s the that’s the immigrant story. So many of these people who are first generation do incredible things, and they help provide an energy, help make America the point of the spear, which separates us from so much, so many other places in this world. Whatever problems we have in this country, we have so many. We talk about them all the time. But I remain firmly optimistic about the future of this country because this is such an innovative place. People want to be here. They know there’s a there’s freedom and that they can innovate, they can fail, and they can try again. And they can make something of themselves. They know that their lineage really doesn’t determine their future here. Unlike other parts of Europe, where we have more structured class systems here, you didn’t have it. And that’s what makes America different and special.”
