Ro Khanna on Trump Profiting Off His Presidency: ‘You Shouldn’t Be Able to Trade on Your Fame’

‘if you’re an elected official, you shouldn’t have a meme coin’

EXCERPT:

KHANNA: “You know, I saw Trump's statements. He says, well, I was a great business person. No one actually is criticizing his past. I mean, he was litigated on the campaign trail. What we've said is very simple, that if you're an elected official, you shouldn't have a meme coin. The reporting suggests he made $600 million off that meme coin. Basically, he put out a Trump image. It went up. He got the benefit. And then when it crashed, all the other people lost out. And you shouldn't be able, as an American politician, to trade on your fame.”
