Varney: Democratic Socialists Are Getting Carried Away with Their Success

‘They may just blow it’

EXCERPT:

VARNEY: “The election of socialist activists in New York and Colorado has lit a fire under the Democrats. Oh, they were shocked and stunned at first, but now beginning to understand the challenge they face. Look at this in 'The Washington Post.' No more appeasement. Democrats need to fight the DSA.' That's the Democrat Socialists of America. The Post says, it's not a faction to be appeased, the DSA is a movement to be opposed. And you'd better move fast, because there will be a socialist summit later this month in Chicago. The DSA is running that show. The summit is their national organizing conference. They're going to offer skills training for organizers, along with political education for campaigns. In other words, their 100,000 members are indeed seizing the moment. It is their moment. But, you know, they may just blow it. The DSA is getting carried away with its own success.”
