GORDILLO: “What we've seen after every major victory we've had is it's a moment of political awakening for people who weren't part of the political system. One thing about our campaigns, they're very good at bringing in new voters. In New York 13, in uptown Manhattan, where we elected Darializa, we saw 1 in 6 voters in that election had not voted in a primary in at least 10 years. So these are people who weren't part of the political system, largely people of color, who are coming out to the ballot box because a democratic socialist is presenting a vision that they're excited about.”
