Giridharadas: DSA Is Social Democracy, ‘Not Gulag Socialism,’ It’s Center-Left Ideology that ‘We Can Have Nice Things’

Wednesday on MS NOW's "Morning Joe," Anand Giridharadas argued against "Cold War baggage" that is making the American people afraid of the kind of "social democracy" that is "left-center-left ideology" in Europe.

"This is not gulag socialism. This is not the Soviet Union socialism. This is, buses should be free, housing should be affordable, people shouldn't die of preventable illnesses because they don't have the right health care plan," he said. "It is actually that a new generation of people in this country didn't grow up with the baggage of the Cold War."
