Richard Haass on Iran: ‘This Is Not Even a Cease Fire, Much Less Is It Peace’

HAASS: “What we're seeing is essentially the future. These kind of loose, ongoing negotiations on nuclear, a messy situation with the strait, a lot of the other issues that led to October 7th not resolved, and periodically, just like we saw the other day, we had exchanges of basically mini wars, mini conflict, where you had attacks on, I think it was Kuwait and Bahrain two or three days ago. The U.S. then attacked Iran. So it's a leaky ceasefire. This is where we are. So you're going to have these talks, but again, this is not even a ceasefire, much less is it peace. And let's just accept this is now the future of the Middle East.”
