Kevin Hassett: There’s More New Factories Being Built in the U.S. Than Ever, There’s a Race to Make America Great Again

HASSETT: "In march, in the non-defense capital goods orders numbers we saw the best month i’ve ever seen and president trump. we had a dinner last night with congressman and he gave a little talk about the economy one of things he added is that right now there’s more new factories being built in the us than ever in u s history and it’s because we got all these commitments to 19 trillion dollars of commitment for people to build factories but because we actually put a timer on right like so so you get expense new factory which is great tax advantage but only if you build it in the first four years and so there’s a race to make america great again and it is really visible in the data the final thing that we’re seeing is there no tax on tips and the no tax on overtime and then no tax of social security is having a big effect on labor force participation those guys or hours worked for those people so we are seeing more hours over time and were see tip workers work longer hors as we increased we got a supply side tax by increasing the supplier labor as well and so it just bodes very very well for the economy for the rest of year were cruising at about three and again i expect the second half will cruise about four"
