Newt Gingrich: None of the Founding Fathers Would Think Birthright Citizenship Makes Any Sense

‘This is a nightmare and the Supreme Court’s just plain wrong’

EXCERPT:

GINGRICH: “Well, technically, Congress can always pass a bill that blocks the court from hearing a case. I mean, that's right in the middle of the constitution. So the Congress could, in fact, instead of going the amendment route, Congress could just say the Supreme Court will not hear and the federal courts will not hear the following issue. And that could be done. I'll tell you, none of the Founding Fathers would have thought this made any sense. They didn't live in a world where you could get on an airplane, fly to the U.S., have a baby, take the baby back home. Now, I mean, we're going to face, particularly the Chinese, playing all sorts of games to create American citizens who, in fact, are going to grow up in China. They're going to be Chinese. I mean, this is a nightmare.”
