MURRAY: “Instead, they let this question about the status of these children fester and linger for an entire year. They allowed a theory that heretofore had been the province of kooks and cranks on the right-wing to actually gain legitimacy. So, they have done the right thing today. But the real winner here is the court, which, in a term in which it has decimated Voting Rights Act, Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act, limited protections for trans athletes, gets to go out on a high. We should not reward them by saying that they saved birthright citizenship. They should have done this a year ago, and this entire outcome was literally foreordained by the text of the Constitution itself. They did no more than do the reading here.”
