SHORT: “And so, while the president has a really strong grip on the party today, I think what the former vice president is looking to do is to say, 'Here’s where we need to go with a conservative movement in the future,' because in many cases we have lost our way. And not just on economic issues, but despite the significant triumphs of the first administration and defeating Roe v Wade, you know, today we basically have Republican states that have asked for the federal government to give them help and relief to say, 'Stop mailing abortion drugs into my state, at least without a doctor’s permit,' and the administration has been signing, as the Biden administration did, with the companies that are providing these abortion drugs. And today — it might shock you — there are actually more abortions in America than before Roe v Wade. So there’s been a lot of places where our movement has wandered away from conservatism."
