BOOKER: "I was asked by a reporter and literally didn’t believe them. I told them, 'This can’t be true. I’m going to check your facts.' And I’m stunned. Literally, the statute says — this was formed, that position was formed because of the lack of coordination that led to — that allowed the attacks of 9/11 to happen. And it says, the statute, explicitly, they shall have extensive — that’s the word — national security experience. This person has none of that. It is a joke from an administration that is not serious. And their lack of seriousness and desire not for expertise, but for loyalty to Trump and willingness to break the law, that’s going to endanger our country. This is a president that looks not for experience, but for people that will extend his corruption, his chaos, and his cruelty."
