Jonathan Fahey: What DHS Is Doing Is Not Only Cracking Down on Fraudulent Asylum Seekers But Also the Attorneys That Are Aiding Them
EXCERPT:
FAHEY: “What DHS is doing is not only cracking down on the fraudulent asylum seekers, but also the attorneys that are aiding them in these claims. And there's a statute under the book that allows them to go after this not just criminally, but civilly, which in many ways is a greater deterrent because they could do it more broadly by sending notices and fining people. So this is going to be a tremendous deterrent as well as holding people accountable, because we don't want to ever go back to what was going on during the Biden administration, which basically -- I mean, that was their scheme, was to encourage false asylum claims. But all these people that did so, one need to be held accountable and anyone that helped them does too. And this never needs to happen again. And also they need to get sent home.”
