Rebeccah Heinrichs: There’s a Little Sign that the Iranian Economy Is Under Stress
‘The Iranians have not been able to communicate or engage in essentially E-commerce’
EXCERPT:
HEINRICHS: "Well, no, I think Alex is right that it’s a really interesting sign. Of course, the Iranians have not been able to communicate and they have not been able to engage in essentially e-commerce, which is tens of millions of dollars of a hit to the Iranian economy. So the fact that the Iran regime is willing to allow some opening up of the internet, not all, they don’t have social media, they don't have full access to what’s going on, but a little beat, I think to me is a sign that the Iranian economy is just under such stress. $500 million a day is what we are taking away from the coffers of the Iran regime because of the blockade. So I think that this is a sign that something is cracking inside the regime."
