Tom Suozzi: Members Should Act Because It’s ‘the Morally Right Thing To Do’

SUOZZI: “Yeah, I think that’s obvious. And, you know, you would hope that people would do it because they know it’s the right thing to do. It’s the morally right thing to do. But again, that’s the purpose of our democracy. The members of Congress, the members of the Senate, they’re talking to their constituents. They’re looking at poll numbers. They see a November election season coming up, and they realize they’ve got to be responsible to the people they represent, or they’re going to pay a price for it. And that’s the purpose of our democracy. That’s the purpose of our checks and balances. I would love that. Everybody just had the guts to stand up and just do the right thing every time."
