James Comey: ‘I’m Not a Big Drinker, but I Was Never Intoxicated While on the Job’

HUNT: “And on the drinking question, is it, do you think, acceptable for an FBI director to be intoxicated while serving in that role?”

COMEY: “You can’t be because you’re always on. You don’t get vacation because you’re considered on the job 24/7. All the time, you can be asked to approve a FISA, to be involved in an operational decision. So, I’m not a big drinker, but I was never intoxicated while on the job. It’s really important that you be alert at all times.”
