GOP Rep. Knott Slams Fairfax County D.A. Descano Over Being Soft on Prosecuting Illegal Immigrants: ‘You’re a Coward!’

DESCANO: “This is a great example of a case.”
KNOTT: “You know, I prosecuted -- I prosecuted cases.”
DESCANO: “And then you understand cases that don't have strong evidence then, sir.”
KNOTT: “And when you're evading like that, you know what that's a sign of? Guilt. What did you do?”
DESCANO: “Sir, I --”
KNOTT: “You dismissed the case.”
DESCANO: “Sir, can I please talk to you about this case if you want to know about it so much?" [crosstalk]
KNOTT: “Mr. Miyares, when you dismiss -- be quiet. When you dismiss a case, what happens to that defendant?”
MIYARES: "He walks free.”
KNOTT: “Walks free. A disgusting, perverted individual preying on children that you dismissed the case. As the father of two young girls, one of them's five, that is as shameful as anything I have seen.”
DESCANO: “I have daughter, sir. Don't -- please don't talk to me that I don't care about people in my community. [crosstalk]
KNOTT: “You clearly don't.”
DESCANO: “Absolutely not.”
KNOTT: “You dismissed the case and it's shameful.”

DESCANO: “I am a coward? You -- you won't even let me talk to you about the case, sir.”
KNOTT: “It's indefensible, sir.”
