Gutfeld: A Time Traveling 18-Year-Old Will Get Shocked to See that You Can Jail a Homicidal Maniac and Not Get Called a Racist 20 Years Ago

‘And the scary thing is now they are getting used to violent uncertainty’

EXCERPT:

GUTFELD: “We are in a situation now where we are accepting chaos over justice because the culture puts more weight on social repercussions than punishing criminals. You know, this 23-year-old woman would rather put the risk of future violence on somebody else than risk a mean Instagram comment because she testified against a black guy. If this were the NBA, you would call that an assist. A guy got murdered. It’s funny. I think progressives have this thing to their advantage. They are banking on 20-year-olds, 25-year-olds not having any concept of civil or a safe society. There's no context. I mean, how shocked would, say, an 18-year-old be to take a time machine and go like 20 years back to New York City or L.A. and go, 'Wow, you guys put away homicidal maniacs and you don’t get called racist? Wait, you can't casually walk into a Walgreens and take $400 worth of beauty products? Wait, the toothpaste isn’t locked up? What is going on here?!' People can get used to anything. And the scary thing is, now they are getting used to violent uncertainty, which means there is just fewer things that you are going to do. You are going to become a less free society."
