Jim Polito: ‘In Massachusetts, It’s Michael Dukakis 2.0’
EXCERPT:
POLITO: "This is an absolute pattern. Just think about this person. And you said it in your intro, this was preventable. It was predictable, and 100% preventable. When he fired those shots at the police officers in 2020, 13 shots, he was already on probation, on probation for another crime. Then, we move forward here. He’s on probation for the 13 shots at police, and he goes out and does this again. I don’t know if you know this, Brian, but in Massachusetts, it is now Michael Dukakis 2.0. Remember back in 1988, the furloughs, the weekend furloughs from prison? We’re back to that again. Do you know we have vacancies in our prisons? In five years we went from crowded to now closing wings of prisons. Prisoners have unlimited phone calls thanks to Maura Healey and this administration, at taxpayer expense. And we have judges like Janet Sanders who, by the way, has retired, collecting a six-figure pension and working as a legal mediator now. So, yes, this is a pattern with the judges in our state. Even though she was appointed by Bill Weld, who was a Republican governor, Bill Weld had some rotten choices, too. Maura Healey continues that, puts her old girlfriend on the supreme judicial court, the highest court in the state. And so yes, predictable, preventable, but who is going to be held accountable for this?"
