Emmanuel Macron: ‘I Want the Youth of France to Understand that Our Fate Is Tied with the African Continent’s Fate’

MACRON: “I think it is the youngest continent, the most dynamic continent of all. And I want our companies and my fellow citizens to hear that as a message. But if I just may, to wrap up, I want the youth of France to understand that our fate is tied with the African continent’s fate, that we will succeed with Africa. And there are some 17 million French people who are part of the African diaspora. So we are part of this continent. It is a great chance for us as French. There are millions of French people who are French Malian, or French Algerian, or French Senegalese, so we have this great chance to be able to succeed alongside the African continent. So no regrets, just ambition and a great thirst for the future. I think we did change the way we talk about Africa. Just don’t look at what isn’t going well. We need to think that there is fantastic ambition here for Africa.”
