John Yoo: WHCD Shooter’s Defense Seeking to Disqualify AG Pirro and AG Blanche Won’t Affect the Ultimate Outcome of the Case

‘That doesn’t do anything to undermine the enormous amount of evidence that already exists to convict the suspect’

EXCERPT:

YOO: “John, it’s actually a strong idea, strong motion to make, but it’s not going to affect the ultimate outcome of the case. The defendant here has a pretty good claim that the U.S. attorney, who’s usually in charge of prosecuting all federal crimes in the District, and even the acting attorney general, not just are in the chain of command on his prosecution, but they were witnesses to the event and were potential victims. And so, usually that would give you the grounds to say these people have a kind of conflict of interest and they should step back from the case. That doesn’t do anything, though, to undermine the enormous amount of evidence that already exists to convict the suspect. I mean, you have the video of him running in with the gun, you have the pictures of him, you have him on the ground, you have the weapon. He even posting pictures of himself with the guns right before he bursts in. So this may just mean that the case gets transferred to someone else within the Justice Department who wasn’t at the party, but it doesn’t mean that there’s going to be any, I think, any change in the course of this prosecution.”
