Guy Benson: L.A. Mayor Bass Broke Pledge For Wednesday Debate Like She Did During Palisades Fire When Leaving Country, ‘Her Word Doesn’t Mean Much’

‘It is an uphill climb’

EXCERPT:

BENSON: "Well, you can look up the voter registration numbers in Los Angeles and do the math. I think it is an uphill climb for him, although he is getting a ton of attention, lots of earned media, and he is just saying clearly, obviously true things. And he’s not doing it with political speak. He's up against a failed incumbent and even farther left person on the city council. And I think you are right that the debate did not go well for Mayor Bass because she committed to an upcoming forum with the other candidates, she just pulled out of it. After that performance she decided, 'Nevermind, I’m rolling back my commitment,' just like she broke her pledge not to leave the country while mayor. Where was she when the fires broke out? In Africa. So her word does not mean much. And we’ll see if the people of Los Angeles see the results of her governance and say, 'Yes, let’s have more of that.' We'll see."
