LAWLER: “One of my opponents running against me, Beth Davidson, a Democrat county legislator in Rockland, tried to make Rockland County a sanctuary jurisdiction, and I was able to stop it and put an end to it. But this is what these people want. They want criminal, illegal aliens roaming the streets, inflicting all types of havoc and pain on the American people. Anybody who commits a crime should be detained and deported if they are in this country illegally, and anybody who commits a crime should be prosecuted under the law. Unfortunately, you have a confluence of events in these blue states where you not only have sanctuary policies, you have disastrous pro-criminal cashless bail policies that put these people back out onto the streets and it needs to stop today.”
