Dem Sen. Shaheen: None of the Goals Pres. Trump Stated for the Iran War Have Been Achieved

SHAHEEN: “Well, as you point out, there are a lot of mixed messages coming out of this administration. I wish President Trump would stop negotiating with the administration and start negotiating with Iran, because I think that’s the best way to get a resolution for what’s going on in the Middle East. And so far, we haven’t seen a clear strategy. We haven’t seen what the end game is. And what we’ve seen is higher prices for Americans at the gas pump, in the grocery store, in so many ways. We’ve seen the Strait of Hormuz continue to be closed. We have seen no plan for dealing with Iran’s potential to get a nuclear weapon, and we’ve seen no way to address their support for terrorist groups across the Middle East. So, None of the stated goals that President Trump said he was in this war for have been accomplished. And Americans are not better off.”
