Actor Esai Morales on President Trump’s Job Performance
EXCERPT:
MORALES: “Here’s the thing. You know, there’s two different mindsets. I think if you — I try to be that person that could believe opposing things at the same time. There’s a place for that in the world. There was a time where I did not like anything that he did in the beginning. And then I realized when he was being attacked so much from so many places, that maybe he’s on to something, you know, and then I found things that I wouldn’t — couldn’t find in the media and I was like, ‘wow, this is impressive.’ At the same time, there are many things that make me wonder if his rhetoric is his own worst enemy. You know, his ego, it seems to get the best of him at times, you know, attacking supporters. I just don’t know what to do with that. Sometimes people think that it’s part of a modus operandi to keep, you know, people from wanting to be on his hit list or, to use a horrible expression, you know, if it’s all psychological warfare. It takes an incredible human being to do what he’s done. So, I’ll give him that much. But I’m not a worshipper of any human. So, while I admire many things he’s done, I’m trying to understand what the purpose is of others and maybe I’ll figure that out and maybe there’s nothing to it and it’s just bad advice. Who knows? Who knows?”
