Colin McDonald Announces DoJ ‘Strike Force’ Expansion Targeting Health Care Fraud

MCDONALD: “We have announced the strike force team that we are placing in the northern district of California and the district of Nevada and in the district of Arizona. This will be 10 or so additional prosecutors on top of the teams we have in place. They will be responsible for routing out in particular health care fraud that is rampant in these districts. Our decision-making for where to scale these resources is driven by data and we look to the data to see where of the soft spots and where are the places that criminals are exploiting and hiding behind the cloak of health care to commit fraud. These three jurisdictions have been identified as places we need to put quick focus on. We have additional strikeforce teams across the country as well”
