TANDEN: "I mean, I think the crucial difference between a year ago or nine months ago and now is that Donald Trump is one of the most unpopular presidents in recent history. And you can complain about some aspects of Disney, but I imagine Disney World is more popular than Donald Trump. And what’s really crucial is that all these companies that were caving in the past, they lost when they caved, law firms lost business when they caved, they lost their best lawyers when they caved. Disney, when they were caving last fall, lost a lot of business from streamers like myself who were like, 'Why am I giving money to Disney?' So I think the truth of this is like, more and more companies should recognize that when you decide to cave to Trump, the American people or millions of people will look at you very differently. And it’s really crucial. You know, we’re just asking these companies, these media companies, we’re not asking them to do anything other than to protect the First Amendment, stand by the First Amendment. We’re — no one — the idea that Brendan Carr is attacking based on what his boss tells him to do, this is not a political argument. This is a violation of the First Amendment, clear and simple."
