Oz Pearlman Says He’d Go Back to Do the W.H. Correspondents Dinner After Trump Assassination Attempt

‘100%’

EXCERPT:

PEARLMAN: "100%. Oh, yeah. I was there to put on a great show. That was what I was brought in to do. I think that they brought me in for a very specific reason this year, which was to unite the country. And I think that regardless of your politics or viewpoints, I truly believe we’re there to celebrate the free press, the First Amendment, the fact that you can be on air, that anyone can be on air with any viewpoint that you have, and I truly believe that in this country, say what you will about any of the rights, we have a freedom of press, we have a Constitution. And I wanted to be there to honor the journalists that are doing it. And because one deranged person comes in with a gun and does this does not mean that we put our lives on the side and stop what we’re doing. If somebody goes and does this at a football game or a baseball game, do we stop living our lives? Absolutely not. I think that allows that person to win. So, absolutely, 100%, if they ask me to, I’m going to be there. I have a great show to put on, and I want to do something that will unite the country, blow people’s minds and amaze them."
