Dave McCormick on Spirit Airlines: I’m ‘Skeptical’ of the US Gov’t Getting Involved in Transactions Like This in General

‘If the debtors and investors don’t think there’s a profitable business, it’s hard to imagine the government will do a particularly good job’

RUSH EXCERPT:
McCORMICK: "I’m sympathetic to the 14000 jobs and some of those are in Pennsylvania but I’m skeptical of the United States government getting involved in transactions like this in general, if the debtors and investors don’t think there’s a profitable business it’s hard to imagine the government will do a particularly good job. I also understand in some cases the areas they need to get involved I think the president andsecretary but no cups done a great job making sure the could call industries come back to the United States or prosperous here but this one seems a little bit outside of the definition and is a slippery slope of the government gets involved in all these sorts of things I think it will ultimately undermine the discipline of a free market and imagine we have business people in this a administration that will make a decision. Imagine if they were Democrats in charge of this we certainly would not want them investing in making decisions. I’m hopeful we can find a private sector solution. Maria: great analysis I wanted to get your take you were a businessperson before you went to Washington."
