Lemire on Iran: This Was a Rushed War and It Was Shortsighted
EXCERPT:
LEMIRE: “Nothing conservative about this government. And this is also what happens when you surround yourself with people who simply tell you yes. You know, I think back to the remarkable story about Jonathan Swan and Maggie Haberman in 'The New York Times' a few weeks ago, detailing how the decision was made to go to war, and even those aides who later tell reporters they had private reservations about what was going to happen, no one told Trump that. You know, yes, Dan Caine, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, outlined this could happen, this could happen, but no, no advocacy was made, and that's not necessarily his job, but no one else there did either, and you know, Vance said that he had some reservations, but also made clear, hey boss, it's your decision. We'll just do it. And this was a rushed war, and it was short-sighted.”
