Rep. Jonathan Jackson Is Asked If He Thinks the Troops Are Therefore Following Illegal Orders from President Trump

‘Without the authorization of Congress, it is illegal’

EXCERPT:

JACKSON: "I think that the president said it’s an excursion, which it’s not. The secretary of defense calls himself the secretary of war, as our greatest block of naval assets, our military bases, are being attacked. We first have to agree on truth and call it what it is. It is a war. Then the second part of that, is it legal or illegal, without the authorization of the United States Congress, you know, it is illegal. So you need to first line up, get it in sync, figure out if this is something that the nation asked for, something the nation wants to commit its resources to. There's going to be an enormous drain on our resources that comes at the expense of food and shelter and housing, health care at home. So I think we need to bring people to the table, try to get out of there. It’s causing the fuel and energy prices to go up around the world and things will get bad. Now I particularly want to say something to the soldiers that are over there. They're in my prayers and we’re trying to change the policy right now to bring them home. They’re about to go into the hot season, still be coming out of the spring, if you will, going the into the summer season, and you're gonna look at temperatures of 100, 130 degrees Fahrenheit being on those ships and working with those hot materials of the fires, the rockets the blasters that our soldiers did not sign up for this. And so they’re in my thoughts. We should not have lost those 13 soldiers. So I'm gonna do everything I can to bring our children and our soldiers back home."
