Va. GOP Chairman: We Have a Strong Case Before the State Supreme Court Against This ‘Severely Gerrymandered Map’

‘There is nothing fair for Virginians about these districts’

EXCERPT:

RYER: "Well, one of the many issues that we're taking up with the Supreme Court, first of all, what the Democrats did to actually hold this referendum, the process that Governor Youngkin mentioned in his statement was entirely unconstitutional and in fact violated provisions of Virginia's code. But in addition to that, the ballot language told Virginians that they were doing something to enact fairness. There is nothing fair --"
FAULKNER: "Yeah."
RYER: "-- for Virginians about these -- these districts. So between misleading ballot language --"
FAULKNER: "Mm-hmm."
RYER: "-- a severely gerrymandered map and a process that they used that was both unconstitutional and violated Virginia law, we believe we have a very strong case before the state Supreme Court."
