Hakeem Jeffries: ‘We’re Going to Make Sure that Pete Hegseth and Kash Patel Are on Their Way out the Door’

JEFFRIES: "Well, listen, it’s a priority right now. We’re already running many of these extremists out of town. Pam Bondi is gone. Kristi Noem is gone. We’re going to make sure that Pete Hegseth and Kash Patel are on their way out the door as well. These are people who should have never been confirmed by Senate Republicans. Shame on them for putting these unqualified individuals into these positions of great significance and sensitivity. But certainly, Lawrence, as we cross over into the majority, if the American people were to entrust us with that great responsibility, we’re going to make sure we’re pushing an agenda that lowers the cost of living, the affordability side of things, while at the same period of time we know that we have to bring accountability. It was James Madison who said that Congress, at its best, should be a rival to the executive branch. And so we take that to mean a check and balance on an out-of-control Trump Administration."
