David Sanger on Trump’s ‘Open the F**kin’ Strait:’ There Was a Time When on ‘Easter Mornings,’ Presidents Walked Across Lafayette Park to the Church

‘This was sort of an unusual way, I think, to start off the morning’

RUSH EXCERPT:
SANGER: "It could, you know, used to be the time when on Easter mornings, you saw presidents walk across Lafayette park to, uh, to the church. This was sort of an unusual way, I think, to start off the, the morning and an unusually vivid even for the president‘s true social posts. Um, here‘s the issue. The president has varied in the past week between, uh, demanding that the strait be opened to saying it‘s not my problem. the United States doesn‘t get very much of its oil out of the strait anyway, so the Europeans should go in and get this open, or the Chinese should or others. He clearly now is back at the threat that he had made more than a week ago. Uh, if in fact, he goes after power plants and bridges, I‘m sure his lawyers will make the case that these are essential to Iran‘s missile and nuclear program. But they‘re also important to supply civilians. And that‘s why there is a potential for war crimes here."
