Dan Henninger on Trump Being Angry at NATO Over No Help with Iran: They Have an Interest in the Strait of Hormuz, Eventually, They Will Come Around
EXCERPT:
HENNINGER: "Think about this particular subject is world affairs is now divided into two historical pieces before Iran after the Iran war started. Let’s think about what existed before the Iran war commenced. Europe understood there are four adversaries dedicated against the west Russia, China, North Korea and indeed Iran. The Europeans reason they’ve been urging them to increase their spending on defense a 5% of GDP is about the Russian threat. Let’s not forget there’s a significant war going on in Ukraine. The northern European countries, Sweden, and Finland, Denmark I’ve actively been training for an invasion from Europe, from Russia. That is what was on their minds. Suddenly the Iran war erupts the argument that Trump makes for the Iran war is legitimate, they were trying to seek nuclear capabilities and indeed long-range missile capability that has always in the background years going back to the Obama presidency and now it has commenced. The Europeans have an interest in this. They have an interest in opening the Strait of Hormuz, there is no question about it. Eventually they are going to come around. They were startled when this happened. I think they will eventually admit the reality and the necessity of participating."
