ABC 7: FBI Warned Local Police Departments of Iran ‘Surprise Drone’ Attack on California Back in February
EXCERPT:
STONE:" So, what we know is, it was a bulletin that went out to law enforcement nationwide, including here in California, saying that the FBI has intelligence that Iran had been wanting to do a surprise attack on California using drones going back to a ship off the coast. Now, this is intelligence that — at this point, they don’t know the validity of it, but this is something that the warning has definitely been out there."
ANCHOR 2: "Okay, so the warning's been out there, certainly has all of our attentions, but the sources, how general is the warning? Has there been any evidence of Iran actually trying to carry out any such attack?"
STONE: "There has not been any evidence of that. I want to read from the alert the went out, it says, 'We have no additional information on the timing, the method, the target or perpetrators of this alleged attack.' There is no evidence that anything is being planned right now, there’s no evidence there’s a ship out there where drones are on board, anything like that. The governor’s office today saying that they have known about this and that they are looking into it, that they’re keeping Californian safe. The LAPD a moment ago saying that no known or specific threats to Los Angeles, so all agencies know about this. They’ve been watching it. They’ve known about it for a couple of weeks, since the fighting began in Iran, and they’ve definitely been on guard for something like this."
