When President Trump had the chance to advance our geopolitical interest, he took that chance. It’s always a risk. He is weighing the risk. He has earned the benefit of our doubt here. If there is a way to help manage and rebuild, maybe with a joint venture in place, the Iranian oil fields, without disproportionate risk to our troops and our overall geopolitical position, what’s the argument against doing this? Why wouldn’t it make sense?”
