Sen. Murphy: We’ll See if Sen. Mullin Has the Temperament to Lead DHS That’s ‘Beating the Hell Out of Protesters’

MURPHY: “Similarly, of course, there will be a conversation about whether Senator Mullin has the right temperament to lead an agency that is out there on the streets beating the hell out of protesters. But I guess I think the same way that Dick does about this. To me, it’s much more about a commitment to stop the illegal actions of this department. I mean, if Senator Mullin pledges to stop the roving patrols and he pledges to take the masks off the agents, if he pledges to put ID on his agents, if he puts CBP back to the border, if he stops the corrupt contracts, if he does independent investigations of the murders, if he puts HSI back to their job, then I’ll support him. But he’s not going to pledge to do any of those things."
