HARRIS: “I believe that the American people will fight for our democracy when push comes to shove. I believe the power is with the people. I believe that there are a lot of people who rightly are feeling overwhelmed right now, and there’s a considerable number of people that are very afraid. And what I also know is that it is our nature to thrive in community, to thrive in an environment where we are reminded and remind each other that we’re not alone. And that’s our nature. I’m seeing that around the country. And so, when I talk about a project of civic renewal, it’s about dedicating ourselves to that. And that is about, you know, volunteer at the local food bank. Sadly, food banks are seeing a rise in the number of people, right, going there.”
