Jonathan Fahey: Mamdani Is Paying the Snow Shovelers Below Market Value and Below Living Wage

FAHEY: “You can’t make this stuff up. And it really does show, they’re not really against voter ID because they think people don’t have ID. They have other motivations behind it. It really gives up the game here. But it’s just so funny when you watch all of these things unfold with Mamdani, where you hear, see the theory and then when he has to deal with reality and he just seems not up to the — up to the task. But what’s really interesting, they’re offering these people $19 an hour. Mamdani has already said a living wage is $30 an hour. So now he’s offering people below a living wage. And incidentally, and anyone here that knows this, you can probably make $100 an hour shoveling snow during one of these things, just going out on your own. So he’s paying people below market value and below a living wage and they have to come up with all sorts of ID. It just shows he’s in over his skis in every respect. Ironically.”
